What to expect

Three of the Yucatan's star attractions shine on this tour. It all starts with a trip to Ki'ichpam Xunaan Natural Park for a chance to swim in its natural, freshwater cenote. From here, you'll visit the most recognisable landmark on the Yucatan Peninsula, Chichen Itza. You'll explore the grounds and learn about the iconic Mayan temples here, before continuing on to the colourful-yet-quaint town of Valladolid. You'll have some free time here to wander the pastel-painted streets, shop for Mayan souvenirs and hop around its bars and restaurants.

More time in Chichén Itzá needed and less time at the cenote and Valladolid seemed unnecessary and just a selling exercise.

Pickup at hotel 640am. Travel for 30mins to then a 50min wait 4 bus 2. Stop at "local market" made to look for 25mins at Tat b4 admission to cenotes swim. Swim and lunch short due to enforced shopping.guide lied saying shops cheap and upselling "mayan birth certs" at $35 each. Arrived Chichen Itza at 3.15pm, very good guide included and thus bit good. 2hrs later back on bus to next shop stop. On final leg bus guide directly asking for tips in order to get coochy cooch from his wife. Avoid!

The bus took 5 hours due to doing 2 hours of hotel pick ups and no food or water was offered. The guide removed us from the tour group and we therefore missed the lunch. When we stopped for lunch the guide went ahead with the rest of the tour without us. A formal complaint has been lodged.

Guide picked us up from the hotel but then just dropped us off the entrance when coming back, not bothering to go into the hotel and drop us off where they picked us up from. Valladolid we were dropped into a jewelry store just to try to get us to buy more things cenote was good but too short, too much focus again on buying things. Chichen itza was good, guide could’ve provided umbrellas or at least explained the history in a shady spot. Not rushing to recommend it to anyone

Enjoyed the cenote swim (although they did run out of lockers so one of our party didn’t swim so they could look after the bags) and the visit to Chichén Itza was wonderful. Not so much the stop in Valladolid as we had just 25 mins there. It was a long day as we were the first pick-up at 7am and returned to hotel at 9pm so really late dinner. Tour guides were great, very knowledgeable.
