What to expect
Meet your English-speaking tour guide at the impressive Heroes' Square, the largest square in Budapest. Visit the Millennium Monument, commemorating 1000 years of Hungarian history. In front of the monument you will find the grave of the unknown soldier, and on the two sides of the square you will see the Arts Hall and the Fine Arts Museum.
Next, head to the City Park, the oldest public park in the world. Walk over a bridge to reach an island on the lake, home to the romantic Vajdahunyad Castle.
In the inner courtyard of the castle you will discover some interesting public statues including that of Anonymus, the first history writer of Hungary. All around the courtyard there are copies of buildings representing different periods and styles of Hungarian architecture.
You will hear the scariest part of the tour, and see a statue of Dracula as well as the copy of the Transylvanian castle tower where the real Dracula (Vlad Dracul the Impaler) was born.
The last stop of the tour will be the main building of the famous Szechenyi Baths, the largest thermal bath of Europe.
After the tour you can enter the baths to try their magic effect, or you can take the subway from the station next to the baths to return directly to the city center.
