Things to do in Český Krumlov Castle
The second most visited castle in the Czech Republic, Český Krumlov Castle fully deserves to be part of the UNESCO World Heritage List as one of the most important architectonical venues in Central Europe. This Baroque residence offers an unmissable opportunity to admire the original layout and architectural details dating back to the 14th century. The complex is one of the largest in Europe, covering with its 40 buildings and palaces the area of seven hectares. Inside the Renaissance and Baroque chambers, the visitors can marvel at a vast collection of paintings and Flemish tapestries from these periods. One of the castle’s gems is a perfectly preserved Baroque theater, still open and active. Last by not least, the residence is surrounded by a romantic garden with the Cascade Fountain as a centerpiece. Legend has it that the castle is inhabited by a ghost of the famous White Lady of Rosenberg.
